This hub ranks the purchases and visitors that actually change a Spellbound & Shelved run. It is not a PvP meta. There is no PvP. The “tier” is time-to-clean-floor: does this upgrade, wing, or reader help you spend OPEN gold without drowning the mosaic?

How we rank
S — Buy or welcome as soon as the run can afford the entropy. These shorten CLOSED tidy time or fund the next real bottleneck.
A — Strong once the library has more than a couple of racks. Waiting a phase is fine.
B — Situational. Good for achievements, gold spikes, or late web completion.
C — Vanity, leaf nodes, or visitors you should usher if the floor is already a blizzard.
We do not invent node titles from the tiny gold icons. The in-game tree expects you to hover for details. Rankings talk in jobs: gnome speed, carry, wing unlocks, reader throughput, idle comfort.
Launch-week caveat
The game released 7 Sep 2026. Reviews on Steam were already positive on a small sample. Rankings will move if needmoar.games patches costs. Check Updates after a build, then come back here. Until a patch notes page exists, this list is the launch web as players meet it.
How to use a tier list in an idle
Open the door with a shopping list from the S-tier upgrades. CLOSE after the purchase. If the bottleneck is space, unchain one wing, not three. If the bottleneck is chaos, demote high-chaos readers by ushering and shortening OPEN. If the bottleneck is labor, hire and master gnomes instead of buying another leaf on the constellation.
A common failure is treating the upgrade web like a completionist coloring book during Phase 1. The walkthrough wants capacity, not a filled mandala. Another failure is ranking Cats as S-tier because +600 looks pretty in the log while 400 extra covers spawn. Payout without filing speed is a trap.
